Why The Right Helmet Matters-
Not all helmets are created equal. A helmet that doesn’t fit, isn’t certified, or isn’t suited for your activity won’t give your brain the protection it deserves. Here’s how to choose the right one—for you or your child

Safety Certifications
Look for labels like:
CPSC (for bikes, scooters, skateboards).
ASTM F1492 (for skateboarding)
Snell/DOT (for mopeds/motorcycles).
Replace Worn Helmets
The condition of your helmet matters. Avoid buying used helmets, and replace helmets after serious impact, or after 5 years.
Ensure Proper Fit
Helmets should be snug, but not painful. It should sit level on the head (not tilted back or forward)
Straps should form a “Y” shape under the ears
Ensure the buckle fits comfortably under the chin.
More than 80% of youth bike-related head injuries could be prevented with helmet use.
